In the human lymphatic nodes the trabeculae are ill defined. In order to do this lymph nodes contain lymphocytes a type of white blood cell which includes b cells and t cells. They are composed of four main layers the capsule subscapular sinus cortex and medulla.

A node object consists of three parts.

They are composed of four main layers the capsule subscapular sinus cortex and medulla. Internally the node is divided into compartments called nodules. From the capsule strands of tissue pass into the substance of the node and are known as the connective tissue trabeculae. They are grouped like beads on a string ˇ both deep in the body and near the surface see diagram 1.
