Downlights are wired in a radial circuit and so the feed wire goes to the first light in the circuit and then from the first to the second and then from the second to the third etc. Instead of doing this it is better to use multiple wire splitters terminal blocks or solder wires together to split your wires rather than try and overload a wire connector which can be a serious fire hazard.
